Santa came and spoiled us all! It was a fun filled weekend.......
Christmas eve afternoon we headed to dad and Judie's and had lunch and opened gifts. WOW the three of us got spoiled rotten!! The eve was spent with my Aunt Carol and Uncle Gail at their house with a nice dinner. Christmas morning I was up at 7 eagerly waiting for Steve to get up. I was so excited :)
We opened gifts together and drank our peppermint coffee enjoying the last Christmas moring with just the two of us. We then loaded up the car and headed North to Seattle to spend the remaining holiday with Steve's family. Here are the highlights of our busy weekend................

Breaking ground 12/20/10
I am so excited to blog about the new addition we are adding to the basement. STRING BEAN'S GOING TO HAVE HER OWN ROOM! Yes that is correct a room of her own. Our friends Brian and Kyle (professional builders) broke ground on the basement yesterday 12/20. We are adding a large nursery with a full bathroom and a second room for my wedding office/storage. The guys got started around 8 am and I couldn't even believe the progress in just 4 hours! OH MY It's really happening!!! So excited!
The framing should be done on Wednesday 12/22 then the wiring will get started and should only take a full day or 2. Insulation will then be added and sheet rockers are scheduled to come early January. Paint then carpet. We figure it will all be ready to go by mid to late January. Here is a photo of before and the first day of framing...................

28 weeks and counting.......
I can say now I am counting the weeks! Baby is starting to really get noticed in my daily routine. By this I mean starting to slow me down (which I am not good at). For instance I headed to the transfer station, aka dump, just last week and to my surprise I couldn't lift the trash can anymore! WHAT?!? I thought.....you wimp! Well its not me who is the wimp, its the belly! I actually had to ask someone for help!!!
I am now 28 weeks and moved from Dr appts every 4 weeks to every 2 weeks. String Bean is measuring 15 inches give or take a little from head to toe and weights about 2 lbs. I feel good. Still sick almost every morning but I get by with a little bread and a glass of cold club soda. I haven't really gained alot of weight but do feel the effects of what has been put on. Hoping it will all come back off quick as a wink :) HA!!!
Last week was the gestational diabetes test (I have attached the nasty drink picture below). The day started out very rough. Managed to get in a breakfast then a quick snack at 10am before I had a big wedding show meeting in town. The meeting of course ran over and I missed lunch. Which meant I was going to drink this sugar drink (exactly 1 hr before a blood draw) with nothing in my tummy. HA! Baby is NOT going to like this, I thought. To top it all off, Steve was in the car waiting for me texting my phone"5 min till you have to drink" then "2 min till you have to drink" Then again "its time to drink". I managed to cut the meeting short, chug the orange drink and get to the blood draw/Dr appt on time WHOO!
So I am sitting on the cold table after getting a blood draw and a shot in my butt for my RH negative blood type waiting for my midwife. In she walks and states very quickly "you failed your test". What???? I thought....oh @!?%&! Serious?!?!
I will remember to eat right BEFORE I have to test again in the future :) Not a pleasant experience getting poked with a needle 4 times!

To make a long story short, I then had to schedule a 3 hour blood draw. BOOOOO
7 am Monday morning came and I had been fasting sense 9 pm. Let me just tell you that 14 hours without food or drink (including water) just about killed me! I was beyond irritated and very sick to my stomach along with a grueling headache. To make it all worst I had to drink the orange nasty drink, AGAIN! This time the drink was double the sugar.
I was happy when it all was over and found out my blood sugar is normal. I will remember to eat right BEFORE I have to test again in the future :) Not a pleasant experience getting poked with a needle 4 times!

Deck the Halls.....it's that time of year again
That time of year is here again.....the annual hunt for the "perfect" tree! We headed up Sunday to Leighten's U-cut tree farm in Mill A to hike around in 6 inches of snow with our hand saw, 4 layers of clothes and hot cocoa in hand. It was a beautiful day! To our surprise we found our 2010 tree in a matter of minutes!!!
Happy Holidays :)

String Beans first clam dig
Just got back from a great trip to Long Beach! We clam dug Friday the minute we got there and again Saturday evening. It was a perfect night, Friday. Got our limit in just under an hour both days. Here are the highlights of our weekend trip...............

Let the "Mr Needy" begin
We are like still a good 4 + months to go before little string bean will be born and I have a "Mr Needy" on my hands! I am speaking of Tek not Steve. I'm getting the sense that he knows something is going on. Following me all around the house, trying to sleep on our bed and cry's when I leave him at home. I have been told often lately how important it is to prepair our family pet for the new arrival. He has been an only child for the the last 10 years....OH MY this is really going to do some damage! Steve and I have started to play sounds of crying baby's on the computer. He leaves the room LOL. I am assuming he doesn't enjoy these sounds. I talk to him often about the baby but again he doesn't want anything to do with the word "baby". I recently told Steve that we need to purchase a net for the back end of the Tahoe to keep him in the far back. I know this is cruel of me but evey time we arrive somewhere he will jump over anything that is in the backseat. I don't think string bean would appreciate Tek jumping over her! This is definitely going to be interesting.......I will keep you posted!
